Croghan Lodge is rented on a self catering basis and the rental charge for the year 2010 is euro 470 per week.

The rental period commences and ends on Saturdays.

A charming cottage in its own secluded site within Birr Castle Demesne, County Offaly. As a lodge, it commands its own entrance to this park of over 50 hectares, recognised as one of Europe's finest ornamental gardens, with trees and shrubs from all over the world, around a lake with rivers and waterfalls. The demesne also features the world's tallest box hedges and the recently restored giant telescope. A wonderful retreat for nature lovers, gardeners, artists and all yours to enjoy privately after the main gates close to the general public at the end of each afternoon. Fishing, horse riding and golf are available locally and the River Shannon is only 20 minutes drive away.

The Croghan Lodge comprises a sitting room, kitchen, bathroom with shower and 2 bedrooms (1 double and 1 twin). Shops with good Irish "craic" and excellent restaurants are only 1 mile away in the town. The Croghan Lodge is heated by solid fuel central heating and an open fire (all fuel and power, bed linen and towels included in rent) and includes a colour TV and washing machine. Garden furniture allows you to enjoy the lawned gardens and there is ample parking space. Pets are welcome.
